Attention Paden City Water & Sewer Customers | News, Sports, Jobs - Tyler Star News

Recently we have been experiencing an increase in problems in our Sewer System due to the presence of sanitary wipes.

These wipes labeled flushable are not biodegradable and causing clogs and extreme damage to the pump system at our sewer plant. After recently replacing two pumps at a cost of $6000.00 each, we are now incurring more cost to rebuild these pumps, because of these wipes.

The sewer budget has sustained the constant costs and if it continues the cost would ultimately have to be passed on to the customer in a form of Sewer Rate Increases. The City has done everything possible to avoid raising sewer rates with the new project and it would be a shame to have it happen due to misuse of the system.

Please be diligent and refrain from flushing any type of wipes or sanitary products.

Thank you for your cooperation.
