Highly creative patterns designed from equine coats shine in this new Premium Peel and Stick Collaboration.

York Wallcoverings will debut a wallpaper collaboration with SAS Equestrian (www.sasequestrian.com). The creative vision of SAS Equestrian Owner and Photographer Shawna Simmons-Whitty comes to life in bold, abstract patterns created specifically for large scale room installations by the design teams at York Wallcoverings.

Inspired by the elite hunter/jumper lifestyle, the SAS Equestrian Collection was created from photographing top horses in their discipline, groomed to perfection and interpreting their coats into patterns suited for interiors. With each pattern, Simmons-Whitty takes the timeless beauty of the equine coat to create a modern approach to textile design. Up close, each pattern reveals hundreds of horse hairs that become more abstract as the viewer steps further away. These sophisticated patterns pair well in the dining room of modern farm house, on the walls of an upscale tack room, or in a horse-crazy equestrian’s childhood bedroom, but still subtle enough for a non-equestrian to appreciate.

“I travel around the country to various horse shows and private farms, capturing the equestrian lifestyle through my camera lens. Over the years, I was so inspired by the range of markings and patterns on various horses  and imagined how they would look translated as patterns for the wall,” said Shawna Simmons-Whitty, Owner of SAS Equestrian. “As a heritage design brand, York was the perfect partner for this project, and their unmatched printing capabilities allowed this collection to come together beautifully.”

Printed on York Wallcoverings’ Premium Peel and Stick, the patented collection’s seven patterns offer the feeling of traditional wallpaper with a modern approach to installation. Luxury non-woven substrates provide tactility and signature quality, while durable adhesives allow the product to be easily installed, and, when the time comes, removed in full strips without damage to surfaces.

“We’re really proud of this collaboration; Shawna beautifully captures the equestrian lifestyle with textured neutrals and intricate detailing in a collection that feels familiar, yet avant-garde,” says DeAnna Hain, Executive Director of Marketing at York Wallcoverings. “Our Premium Peel and Stick offerings are defined by fine quality, signature style, and sustainability, and the SAS Equestrian Collection expands our portfolio with a refreshingly original look that will appeal to a wide audience.”

High res imagery is available for download in the lookbook here. The SAS Equestrian Collection starts at $65 per roll and can be purchased through  yorkwallcoverings.com.

Impressive new space doubles the size of previous location.

The project is on schedule to open at the April 2023 High Point Market.
